Alumni Invited to Rutgers Serves the Garden State Food Harvesting Event

Expanding on the robust success of Rutgers Takes the Garden State networking events, alumni are invited to volunteer for Rutgers Serves the Garden State, an evening of service fighting hunger on Thursday, September 25.
Into the garden, alumni will go.
Rutgers University alumni will have the opportunity to roll up their sleeves, gather the earth’s goodness, and enjoy the company of fellow alumni at the Rutgers Serves the Garden State event to be held at America’s Grow-a-Row in Pittstown, New Jersey.
“We’ve had a tremendous response to the Rutgers Takes the Garden State events, which began late last year,” says Kimberly Hopely, Rutgers University’s executive vice president for development and alumni engagement and president of the Foundation. “Rutgers alumni are generous with their time for volunteer projects. Rutgers Serves the Garden State is a way for our alumni community to come together and serve others and connect with multiple generations of fellow alums.”
The theme of the September 25 project is fighting food insecurity by providing fresh produce for individuals who don’t have easy access to fresh fruits and vegetables. (Please note the deadline to register is September 17). Once the harvest is complete, alumni will be invited to enjoy snacks and a networking session in the barn.
Please visit Rutgers Serves the Garden State for more information and to RSVP. Registration is required to attend this event starting at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 25 at America’s Grow-A-Row at 150 Pittstown Road in Pittstown, New Jersey. The deadline to register is Sunday, September 17. Please note that walk-in attendees will be permitted.
