About the Rutgers University Alumni Association
The Rutgers University Alumni Association (RUAA) was established in 2008 following the Board of Governors’ endorsement of President Richard L. McCormick’s Plan for Alumni Relations. As Rutgers’ primary alumni organization, the RUAA partners closely with the Alumni Engagement Team to connect a global network of over 600,000 alumni. All Rutgers graduates automatically become members and can engage through volunteering, events, and exclusive benefits.
The Rutgers University Alumni Association includes chartered organizations recognized by the RUAA Board of Directors and led by dedicated alumni volunteers. Formed around shared identities, interests, professions, regions, or school and college affiliations, these groups foster pride, connection, and meaningful engagement with Rutgers through social events, networking opportunities, and service initiatives.
RUAA Board of Directors
The Rutgers University Alumni Association (RUAA) Board of Directors is the primary leadership body of the association and has authority over the affairs of the affiliated alumni chartered organizations.
The board serves as advisors to the alumni engagement staff of the Rutgers University Foundation (RUF) to further the values and initiatives of the University and are ambassadors for all alumni university-wide.

RUAA Board Nominations
The RUAA Board of Directors accepts nominations each year. Terms are staggered three-year terms so every cycle will have a different amount of open positions.
Nominations of candidates will be accepted beginning in mid-January 2026 to fill board member vacancies beginning July 1, 2026. The new members will be elected by the full RUAA Board of Directors at their meeting on May 21, 2026.
