Duncan L. MacMillan

Perhaps no one has transformed financial communications more than Duncan L. MacMillan. In 1982, MacMillan joined Michael Bloomberg, currently mayor of New York, and two others to form Bloomberg LP, the world’s leading provider of pricing and trading information, news, and communications tools for corporations, news organizations, financial and legal professionals, and individuals. MacMillan designed many of the computer systems by which the Bloomberg company disseminates information and communicates critical data. MacMillan is also a member of the Rutgers University Foundation Board of Overseers and was a member of the university’s Board of Trustees, serving as vice chair and chair, and Board of Governors. In 1998, MacMillan received the Rutgers University Alumni Federation’s Meritorious Service Award, and he was elected a Loyal Son of Rutgers in 2001 by the Rutgers Alumni Association. He and his wife, Nancy, were the first in Rutgers history to endow two academic chairs, one in genetics and one in the life sciences. Princeton HealthCare System and its foundation, the McCarter Theater, and the Corner House in Princeton have also benefited from his service as a trustee.
