We are thrilled to announce a 75th Anniversary Celebration which will take place on February 27th and 28th, 2025.

We hope this will be an occasion for old and new friends to gather and celebrate seventy-five years of extraordinary scholarship, student engagement, and a supportive and convivial academic community.

Our celebration will begin on Thursday evening, February 27th with the Inaugural John E. Brush Lecture. Our keynote speaker for our event is Dr. Ruth Wilson Gilmore, who received her PhD from Rutgers and whose extraordinary career as a scholar of racial capitalism and abolition geographies, as well as an organizer and advocate of social justice has been widely recognized in academia (e.g. member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences) and beyond (e.g. New York Times, New Haven Mural Project).

Dr. Wilson Gilmore's keynote presentation will be immediately followed by an Alumni Reception where all are welcome for food, refreshments, and fellowship.

On Friday the 28th, we will host an "open house" in the Department of Geography on Livingston Campus.
Join us to engage with previous community members, view exhibitions of current research, tour the Rutgers Ecological Preserve, and participate in other activities.

More details on these events may be found on the Celebration Schedule page.
