The filmmakers expose the deep-rooted power dynamics that shape images of the continent. When I Say Africa challenges viewers to confront the real costs of these representations.

The film’s executive producer joins alumni and current students in Global Urban Studies to discuss urban research conducted in Africa and the role of filmmakers and social science scholars in understanding the continent.
