Rutgers Jazz Ensemble

The Rutgers University Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Anthony D.J. Branker, will pay tribute to the musical legacy of legendary saxophonist and composer John Coltrane when they present the program “A Love Supreme: The Spirit and Sound of John Coltrane’s Music” featuring music from John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme” suite for big band and quintet, and Michael Philip Mossman’s “John Coltrane Suite” (a work originally commissioned by The Commission Project and the Princeton University Jazz Studies Program in 2003).

Also to be spotlighted are compositions by John Coltrane, Ralph Bowen, and Anthony Branker, as well as an arrangement of Coltrane’s “Resolution” by Wynton Marsalis.
