Dan DiFilippo has been re-elected to serve as chair of the Rutgers University Foundation Board of Directors, continuing in the leadership role he began last year.
A 1983 accounting graduate of Rutgers University–Newark, DiFilippo retired as a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in July 2022 after spending almost 40 years at the firm. He has been a member of the Foundation Board of Directors since 2016. He initially was elected chair in 2024 to complete the final year of the term of Amy Towers, who previously served as the Foundation Board chair. Towers left the Foundation board when she was elected chair of the Rutgers University Board of Governors.
DiFilippo says he is excited about his new three-year term, which will run through the end of June 2028.
“I have long been proud to be a Rutgers graduate,” DiFilippo says. “My Rutgers degree helped me to launch my career. I am now honored to be entrusted with the leadership of the Rutgers University Foundation Board. It is my goal to continue to inspire fundraising efforts that support students and guide engagement activities that connect alumni to the university.”
A native of New Jersey who now splits time between Coral Gables, Florida, and Dubai, DiFilippo serves on the boards of several start-ups and nonprofit organizations, including Royalwood Holdings and his alma mater, St. Mary’s High School in Rutherford, New Jersey.
During his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, DiFilippo worked with Fortune 500 clients developing and implementing solutions in areas such as strategy and operations, risk management and compliance, people and change management, finance, and technology. He served many of the firm’s largest global clients, primarily in the pharmaceutical and animal health industries, and spent extended periods of time working in Europe and Asia.
DiFilippo is joined by three vice chairs on the Foundation Board: James P. Berg RC’99, NLAW’03; Elizabeth J. McNeilly RC’85; and Reema Puri CC’98, GSNB’01. Please see the Foundation Board page for its full roster of members.
The Board of Directors is responsible for governance and fiduciary oversight of the Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, which exists to generate philanthropic resources and facilitate meaningful engagement to advance the mission of Rutgers.
